These homemade apple fritters are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, packed with real apple chunks and a delicious cinnamon flavor. A perfect weekend treat that’s cheaper than store-bought and great for when you have too many apples lying around!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs - Beaten
  • ¼ cup Melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 3-4 medium Fresh apples - Peeled and diced into ½-inch pieces
  • 2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon (extra) - For tossing with apple chunks
  • 4 cups Vegetable or canola oil - For frying
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar - For glaze
  • 2 tablespoon Milk - For glaze
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract - For glaze

Equipment

  • 1 Heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven (For frying fritters)

Method
 

  1. Peel and dice apples into small chunks (about ½ inch). Toss with cinnamon.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes while you heat the oil.
  4. Heat oil to 375°F. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  5. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze.
  6. Drizzle or dip fritters in glaze and serve immediately while still warm.
