Ingredients
  

  • 4 large pears or 6 medium pears any variety such as Anjou Bartlett or Bosc are great for baking
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon adds a warm sweet flavor
  • ½ cup 120ml pure maple syrup use high-quality syrup for the best taste
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract for a sweet aromatic essence
  • optional toppings: maple almond granola crunchy and slightly sweet & plain Greek yogurt (adds creaminess)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a large baking pan (or line with parchment paper or a silicone mat).
  2. Cut the pears in half. Use a spoon, melon baller, or cookie scoop to remove the seeds. Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture over the pears.
  4. Bake the pears uncovered for 25 minutes, or until soft and lightly browned on the edges. If the pears are firm, they may require additional time. Once done, remove from the oven.
  5. Serve the pears warm, topped with granola and yogurt if desired.
