Ingredients

  • 3 cups graham cracker crumbs finely crushed from whole graham crackers
  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar for the crust mixture
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted if lumpy
  • 12 ounces whipped topping thawed and divided
  • 2 small boxes instant butterscotch pudding mix dry mix
  • 3⅔ cups milk cold for pudding preparation
  • 2 tablespoons grated chocolate optional garnish
  • 2 tablespoons crushed Butterfinger candy bars optional topping

Method

  1. Combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until evenly moistened. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish to form the crust.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until completely smooth and fluffy.
  3. Fold half of the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust, creating a smooth layer.
  5. Whisk the dry butterscotch pudding mix with the cold milk until thickened and smooth.
  6. Pour and spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer in an even blanket.
  8. Cover the dish and refrigerate until fully chilled and set, about 3 hours.
  9. Sprinkle with grated chocolate or crushed candy bars just before serving if desired.
