  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil helps make the chocolate smooth and glossy
  • 1 cup soft baking caramels melted
  • 1 medium green apple chopped or thinly sliced
  • 1 cup chopped gluten-free pretzels or nuts like pecans walnuts or almonds
  • ¼ cup melted chocolate for drizzling on top

Method

  1. Soak the apple pieces in 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons lemon juice for 5-10 minutes to prevent browning.
  2. Melt the chopped chocolate and coconut oil together using a double boiler or microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  1. Line a 9x13-inch sheet pan with parchment paper and spread the melted chocolate into an even layer about ¼ inch thick.
  2. Top the chocolate with crushed pretzels (or nuts) followed by the chopped apples. Drizzle melted caramel and chocolate over the top.

  4. Once the chocolate is set, break the bark into rustic pieces using your hands, or cut it into squares with a knife for more uniform pieces.
