  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Light brown sugar - Packed
  • 2 Large eggs - Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract - Pure
  • 1 ¾ cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips - Plus extra for topping
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts or pecans - Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • Mash the bananas until mostly smooth with small chunks for texture.
  • Stir in melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using), reserving a few chips for topping.
  • Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with extra chips.
  • Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
