½cupUnsalted butter- Melted
¾cupGranulated sugar
¼cupLight brown sugar- Packed
2Large eggs- Room temperature
1teaspoonVanilla extract- Pure
1 ¾cupsAll-purpose flour
1teaspoonBaking soda
½teaspoonSalt
1cupSemi-sweet chocolate chips- Plus extra for topping
½cupChopped walnuts or pecans- Optional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Mash the bananas until mostly smooth with small chunks for texture.
Stir in melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using), reserving a few chips for topping.
Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with extra chips.
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
