  • 2 cups 240g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons 12g high-quality culinary grade matcha powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • ¾ cup 170g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup 200g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup 170g white chocolate chips + extra for topping

Equipment

  • Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • Fine mesh sieve for sifting
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop (optional but recommended)
  • Wire cooling rack

Method
 

  1. Sift together flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in white chocolate chips.
  6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, place 2 inches apart.
  9. Press extra chips on top if desired.
  10. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still soft.
  11. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
