Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Unsalted butter - can use salted, skip pinch of salt
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips - or chopped chocolate bar
  • 2 large Eggs - can sub flax eggs
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar - or brown sugar
  • ¼ cup All-purpose flour - or cake flour/gluten-free blend
  • 2 tablespoon Cocoa powder - Dutch-process optional
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract - or almond extract
  • 1 pinch Salt - omit if using salted butter

Equipment

  • 1 9-inch pie pan (buttered thoroughly)
  • 1 Large mixing bowl (for combining ingredients)
  • 1 set Measuring cups & spoons
  • 1 Whisk or mixer (for beating eggs)
  • 1 Rubber spatula (for folding batter)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Beat eggs until frothy, whisk in sugar, then stir in cooled chocolate mixture until combined.
  4. Whisk flour, cocoa, and salt; fold gently into batter, add vanilla, and mix just until combined.
  5. Pour batter into pie pan and bake 25–30 minutes until top is set but center still jiggles; cool 10 minutes before serving warm.
