  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
the Lemon Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Method
 

Prep:
  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
Make Batter:
  1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy (3 minutes)
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time
  3. Mix in lemon zest and juice
  4. Fold in dry ingredients until just combined
Bake:
  1. Pour into prepared pan
  2. Bake 23-25 minutes until toothpick has few crumbs
  3. Cool completely
Glaze:
  1. Mix powdered sugar, lemon juice, and zest
  2. Pour over cooled brownies
  3. Let set 30 minutes before cutting
