  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats - Not quick oats
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar - Packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter - Softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Filling
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking pan (Lined with parchment for easy removal)
  • 1 Large mixing bowl (For oat mixture)
  • 1 Electric mixer (Optional, can mix by hand)
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line 9x13-inch pan with parchment
  2. Mix oat base ingredients until fully combined
  3. Press oat mixture into pan, melt chocolate filling, and spread over base
  4. Add crumble topping and bake until golden brown
  5. Cool completely, lift from pan, and cut into bars
