Ingredients
  

the Brownies:
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • ½ cup buttermilk
the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt.
  3. Beat butter and sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then red food coloring, vanilla, vinegar.
  5. Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to wet mixture.
  6. For frosting: Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour batter into pan, add cream cheese mixture in dollops.
  8. Swirl with knife to create marbled effect.
  9. Bake 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out with few crumbs.
  10. Cool completely before cutting.
