Ingredients

Base Layer

  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists - Enough to cover baking sheet
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed - light brown
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Topping

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips

Finishing

  • Flaky sea salt - Sprinkle on top
  • Crushed pretzels - Optional

Instructions

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat. Arrange pretzels in a single even layer, breaking some to fill gaps.
  • Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and heavy cream, stirring until combined. Bring to a full rolling boil and cook exactly 3 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Immediately pour the hot caramel over the pretzels and spread quickly with an offset spatula.
  • Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 5 minutes until bubbling. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and let sit 3–4 minutes until melted. Spread into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle flaky sea salt and any extra toppings (crushed pretzels, toffee, sprinkles, etc.).
  • Let cool 30 minutes at room temperature, then chill at least 1 hour until firm. Break into pieces for serving or gifting.
