Ingredients

  • 42 oz Strawberry pie filling 2 cans - 2 cans (21 oz each)
  • 8 oz Cream cheese - Softened, Philadelphia recommended
  • 15.25 oz Yellow cake mix - Dry, do not mix
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter - Melted
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice - Enhances strawberry flavor
  • 2 tablespoon Granulated sugar - Optional, for sweetening cream cheese
  • ½ cup graham cracker crumbs - enhances the cheesecake flavor

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish (Glass, ceramic, or metal all work)
  • Small bowl (For melting butter)
  • Measuring cups & spoons (To measure ingredients)
  • Spatula or spoon (For spreading ingredients evenly)
  • Butter knife (For cutting cream cheese into cubes)
  • Cooking spray or butter (To grease the baking dish)
  • Aluminum foil (In case cake browns too quickly)
  • Wire cooling rack (Helps cake set evenly)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Pour both cans of strawberry pie filling into the baking dish. Spread evenly using a spatula.
  3. Cut softened cream cheese into ½-inch cubes and distribute evenly over the strawberry layer. (Optional: Mix with sugar before adding.)
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese and strawberry layers. Press down gently for better absorption.
  5. Melt ½ cup butter and drizzle evenly over the dry cake mix. Make sure all areas are covered.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling. Cover with foil if browning too quickly.
  7. Let cool for 20-30 minutes before serving. Enjoy with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or fresh berries.
