Ingredients
  

The Sponge Cake:
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour - Sifted
  • 5 Large eggs - Room temperature
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • β…“ cup Whole milk - Warm
  • 1 pinch Salt
The Three Milk Mixture:
  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk (14 oz can)
  • 1 can Evaporated milk (12 oz can)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
The Strawberry Stars:
  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries - Sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar - For macerating
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice - Fresh squeezed
The Topping:
  • 1.5 cups Heavy whipping cream - Cold
  • ΒΌ cup Powdered sugar - Adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries - Halved or sliced for garnish
  • optional Mint leaves - For garnish

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish (For baking and soaking the cake)
  • 1 Electric mixer (To beat eggs and cream)
  • 2–3 Mixing bowls (For batter, milk mix, and topping)
  • 1 Whisk (To mix the milk mixture)
  • 1 Fork (To poke holes in cake)

Method
 

  1. Slice strawberries and toss with sugar and lemon juice. Let them sit to release juices.
  2. Preheat oven. Beat eggs and sugar, fold in dry ingredients, add milk and vanilla.
  3. Bake the batter in a 9x13 pan and let the cake cool slightly.
  4. Whisk condensed milk, evaporated milk, heavy cream, and vanilla.
  5. Poke holes in cake, pour milk mixture evenly, and refrigerate.
  6. Whip cream, spread over cake, top with strawberries and garnish.
