Ingredients
  

  • 12- ounce 340 g crusty bread loaf halved horizontally (Use artisan ciabatta or French-style bread)
  • ½ cup 113 g unsalted butter softened (Room temperature for easy spreading)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped or 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 4 teaspoons fresh garlic minced about 3 cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt or ⅛ teaspoon fine salt
  • cup 27 g Parmesan cheese freshly grated (optional for extra flavor)
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes optional for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Place the cut sides of both bread halves facing up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, parsley, garlic, salt, and Parmesan (if using). Mix with a fork or electric mixer until smooth and fully incorporated.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the cut side of each bread half.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 16–18 minutes, or until the edges are golden and slightly crisp. Adjust time by a few minutes for extra crunch.
  6. Let the bread cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring it to a cutting board. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes, if desired. Slice with a serrated knife and serve warm.
  7. Store any leftover bread tightly wrapped at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
